Fueled by the growth of high-speed broadband connections, home networking, and 3G in Asia/Pacific, home automation applications that tie into a PC-based home network are expected to grow quickly in 2008 and 2009, reports In-Stat. The total Asia/Pacific home automation market is expected to soar to over half a bln US dollars in 2011. Only 2.2% of Japanese respondents to the In-Stat survey had home automation systems.
