Hybrid LF-A Confirmed by Lexus – 'will Be Something Entirely Different'
Lexus U.K. director, Steve Settle, has confirmed that LF-A (Lexus' first supercar) is set to go hybrid. In an interview with MotorTrader, he was quoted: This car will not be an adaptation of anything that already exists – it will be something entirely different. It promises to set a fresh standard in the hybrid technology to which Lexus is totally committed and we are very excited about it.
As recently as January this year, Lexus had shown a re-styled version of the LF-A concept that was doing the rounds since 2005. Rumors of a hybrid car first surfaced in late August 2006, when Autocar reported a version of the car would be offered with the same hybrid system as the Lexus 600h sedan. Here are its preliminary specifications: Powertrain Dimensions (inches)
Settle also said that the car will have a new hybrid technology, indicating that it may have plug-in capability. Rumors indicate that it might arrive in late 2008. |
