Toronto, Ontario
(PRWEB) July 27, 2007 -- GreatCanadianRebates.ca -- the first Canadian
website offering cash back rebates for online purchases -- signed up
member number 10,000, just 15 months after launching its service.
"This is a phenomenal accomplishment for us, and it also means a lot of
Canadians have much more money in their pockets," said
GreatCanadianRebates.ca co-founder Mathew Pearce. "It's a bonus on top
of the best deals on the web."
In fact, one member in Surrey, B.C. has saved $2,519.84 so far,
Pearce said. The biggest cash rebate on one purchase totaled $203.13 on
a $6,100 sale at Canadian Tire. The average member has been using the
website for six months and has earned $35.18.
Members earn cash back rebates when they sign in and make purchases on
retailing sites through the GreatCanadianRebates.ca site. Each company
offers a specific amount in cash back rebates in terms of a percentage
of the total purchase or a fixed amount. Most merchants offer rebates
in the 3% to 10% range, but some retailers offer as much as 50% in cash
back rebates. American Express is offering $30 for applying for its
credit card.
Canadian favourites like Chapters.Indigo and Canadian Tire, along
with global giants like Apple, Expedia, Sony and American Express are
just some of the more than 300 retailers offering cash back rebates
through GreatCanadianRebates.ca. Pearce said members have spent the
most money at Dell Canada, Canadian Tire and WestJet. Members using
GreatCanadianRebates.ca and Expedia have saved more than $12 on every
hotel room booked though the site.
The site is free to consumers and is simple to use. Cash back savings are paid to members bi-monthly via PayPal or cheque.
Pearce said 48% of GreatCanadianRebates.ca's customers are from
Ontario, 13% from B.C., 10.9% from Alberta and 7.8% from Quebec. The
service has customers in every province and territory in Canada.
GreatCanadianRebates.ca also has a blog keeping members up to date
on the latest deals being offered. GreatCanadianForum.ca allows members
to share insider knowledge and compare deals.
GreatCanadianRebates.ca is 100% Canadian-owned and operated and has
been profitable since shortly after its launch in April 2006.
