Bookfinder.com Profile
The BookFinder.com site is part of the BookFinder.com/JustBooks network of book search engines. Since our launch in 1997, our comparison shopping engine has been the first stop for millions of online shoppers. We have been recommended in the pages of a wide array of publications, from the New York Times Book Review to the Wall Street Journal, The Guardian to Vogue Japan. Both Newsweek and Money rated us as their favorite online book shopping site (tied with Amazon.com in both cases). The BookFinder.com/JustBooks network is produced by a micro-multinational team of voracious bibliophiles based in Berkeley, California, and Düsseldorf, Germany. Our mission: making it incredibly simple for fellow readers to find and purchase the books they're looking for, be they signed first editions or used paperbacks, out-of-print rarities or the latest bestsellers. Our original search technology was developed as a University of California, Berkeley class project by then 19-year-old college student Anirvan Chatterjee. We launched BookFinder.com in 1997, expanded to new books in 1999, added multilingual searches in 2001, and started releasing the BookFinder.com Report in 2003. In 2006, we offered support for global postpaid price comparisons, and introduced the JustBooks network of European book search engines. TeamAnirvan Chatterjee, 30, Founder and CEO. Anirvan originally developed the core BookFinder.com technology in 1996 as a class project when he was a nineteen-year-old student at the University of California, Berkeley. A lifelong bibliophile, Anirvan is a big supporter of independent bookstores and a voracious reader—working his way through a hundred books a year. Charlie Hsu, 29, Founder and CTO. Charlie holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis. Charlie teamed up with his long-time friend Anirvan in 1999 to build the back-end technology that powers BookFinder.com. His reading interests include science fiction and medieval history. Giovanni Soltoggio, 25, Managing Director, Europe. Giovanni holds a graduate degree in Economics and Management from Bocconi University in Milan and a Master in international Management from CEMS. He built his first college used book exchange website in 1997, and joined BookFinder.com in 2005 to help develop the JustBooks network. He enjoys reading books in Italian, German and English. |
