CanGoogleHearMe Gets Set For Another Round Of Californian AdventuresFebruary 10, 2008 — 08:33 AM PSTby — Mashable.com
Aaron Stanton got some notoriety last year for his relatively unique approach to getting a meeting with Google to hear his idea for a new site: He showed up and sat in their lobby until he got one. This approach did finally get him a meeting. It also caught the attention of some Yahoo! people. Who also ended up giving him a meeting. Though he didn’t get a result from either company, he did get something else: A lot of independent programmers wanting to work with him on his idea. With two friends from his hometown in Boise, Idaho, a programmer from California, and one from England, they’ve finished “the idea,” and they’re on their way to San Francisco on February 10th for meetings. This time around they have set meetings with Google and Yahoo!, but they figure they should also talk with Amazon and Microsoft about the idea they have. Seeing as they have no contacts with either of those companies, Mr. Stanton has again gone to his website with new videos about the latest portion of his adventure, and to ask if anyone get him meetings with the online store and the makers of Windows.Throughout this whole adventure, Mr. Stanton has not shared with viewers of his videos what exactly the idea is. He refers to it in grandiose terms, and his talks with his viewers show that he is highly enthusiastic about whatever the project is, but that’s all anyone on the outside knows. Sometime during the next two weeks he will divulge some details. Finally.
